NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ZONING ORDINANCE UPDATE


PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, the Town of Pierce Plan Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed update to Chapter 10: Zoning Ordinance found within the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Pierce. The public hearing will be held as part of the Town of Pierce Plan Commission meeting on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 6:30 P.M. at the Pierce Town Hall, N6061 County Rd D, Kewaunee, WI 54216. The Town of Pierce Plan Commission may take action following the public hearing, recommending adoption of the proposed update to Chapter 10: Zoning Ordinance of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Pierce.

ALSO TAKE NOTICE THAT an open house informational meeting will precede the abovementioned public hearing from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Pierce Town Hall. The open house is an additional opportunity for town residents and other interested individuals to review and ask questions about the differences between the proposed zoning ordinance update and the town’s existing zoning ordinance.

Chapter 10: Zoning Ordinance of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Pierce contains two distinct but inseparable and integrated parts: written text and a zoning map. The written text and zoning maps together constitute the zoning ordinance and, therefore, shall at all times be considered as interrelated and inseparable parts of a whole. The general purpose of the zoning ordinance is to promote and protect public health, safety, aesthetics, and other aspects of the general welfare; to implement the Town of Pierce comprehensive land use plan; and to meet the requirements of Wis. Stats 91, Farmland Preservation.

Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 7:30 P.M. at the Town Hall of the Town of Pierce a PUBLIC HEARING on the PROPOSED 2021 BUDGET of the Town of Pierce will be held.  The proposed budget in detail will be available for inspection at the Town Hall display case, the Grove display case and the town website by November 1, 2020 or by calling the Town Clerk at 255-1507. 

 
NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING OF THE ELECTORS OF THE TOWN OF PIERCE

Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, immediately following the completion of the Public Hearing on the proposed year 2021 budget, which begins at 7:30 P.M. at the Town Hall of the Town of Pierce, a SPECIAL TOWN MEETING OF THE ELECTORS is called, pursuant to Sec. 60.12(1) (b) of the Wis. Statutes, by the Town Board for the following purposes:

1.To approve the total year 2021 highway expenditures
2.To approve the town board salaries
3.To adopt the 2020 Pierce Town Tax Levy to be paid in 2021

The Town Board will hold a special meeting immediately following the above meetings at the Town Hall to adopt the 2021 Budget.
